In Codex and ChatGPT Work it burns plan allowance faster than lighter models—use it when quality matters more than volume.

Astra Max is not a separate public API model id. On the model page, reasoning.effort can include max—that is a reasoning setting, not a different SKU named “GPT-6 Astra Max”.
